William Borghetti, Founder & CEO

William Borghetti

Leveraging his extensive communication, collaboration, and technology management experience, William led the initial market research and technical feasibility for Sendside Networks next–generation message and document delivery technology.

William's background is a unique combination of technology development, management and early–stage business building. He is an active investor and advisor to several early–stage ventures and frequent speaker on the topics such as strategic business planning, capitalization strategy and fund–raising. William is an Entrepreneur–in–Residence with the Wayne Brown Institute, the oldest and most successful non–profit venture accelerator program in the country.

Prior to founding Sendside Networks, William was the founder, president and chief technology officer of Campus Pipeline, Inc. (CP), an enterprise software company that developed innovative and highly–scaling software solutions for the higher education marketplace which included, among others, a communication and collaboration platform, content management, single sign–on and integration with remote systems using a new, patented communication protocol. During his tenure at CP, William took the venture from a concept to a company with more than 250 employees, crafting critical strategic relationships with partners and guiding the technological direction of the company. CP was acquired by SCT (now SunGard) in 2002.

Most recently, William was named by vSpring Capital to their 2008 V|100, which identifies the top 100 venture entrepreneurs with ties to Utah. He was also selected by Utah Business Magazine as one of the 2008 "Top 40 Under 40," which identifies the top 40 business leaders under the age of 40.

David Colbert, Co-founder, VP of Finance & Operations

Dave Colbert

David has been an instrumental member of the founding team of Sendside Networks since 2005. He is a former Controller and Leadership Team member of Sorenson Medical Corporation, a UT–based medical device company. Prior to Sorenson Medical, David spent 14 years with Kimberly–Clark where he held various positions of increasing responsibility in finance and strategic planning. David was a key member of Kimberly–Clark's venture capital fund evaluating start–ups for potential investments. He also held roles in the Treasury department, Business Analysis and performed numerous acquisition and divestiture analyses, due diligence exercises and firm valuations. In his final K–C role, David was responsible for all accounting, reporting and strategic investments at Ballard Medical Products, a $175+ million wholly owned subsidiary of Kimberly–Clark.

Bill Boyd, Co-founder, UI Architect

Bill Boyd

Bill has been an influential member of the founding team of Sendside Networks since February of 2005. Prior to Sendside Networks, Bill spent 6 years with SunGard/SCT (formerly Campus Pipeline) where he held positions as Web Development Manager, Senior Web Developer and Technical Lead overseeing the design and development of the User Interface for the Luminis Product. Bill has more than 11 years of experience developing web–based applications using a wide range of technologies including, among others, HTML, DHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, JAVA, XML, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Douglas Mealing, Chief Software Architect

Doug Mealing

Doug has more than 12 years of software development experience, with the last 7 years devoted exclusively to designing and developing distributed, highly–scalable web applications and infrastructure. He began his career developing software for torpedoes and submarines for the U.S. Navy. Doug has been the technical lead or primary architect of two web–based financial banking systems, university Portal software (with Campus Pipeline), a business management Portal, a credit card processing gateway, including his own proprietary web–application framework designed to permit rapid development and deployment of scalable web applications. Prior to joining Sendside Networks, Doug founded and managed Costa Rica Development, LLC., a leading off–shore software development center based in Costa Rica which focuses on helping American companies tap into talented and inexpensive engineering resources.

Tim Mills, VP Engineering

Tim Mills

Tim has more than 24 years experience in the computer industry. During this time he has worked in a variety of technical leadership rolls for both large corporations and startups. He and his teams have developed flagship products used by millions of people all over the world. Operating systems to the enterprise, middleware to web–based applications, hardware and software embedded devices to service based online systems. Tim's teams have consistently built successful sophisticated award winning systems and applications.

Tim began his career with operating system pioneer Digital Research and continued his craft with networking giant Novell, Campus Pipeline a portal systems for higher education, Arcanvs provider of Digital Signature technologies, USA Interactive tools for e-content creation and Novizio (now Xyleme) applications for creation of e-learning content.

Geoffrey Kahler, VP Sales and Markeitng

Geoff Kahler

Geoff has more than 16 years experience in various marketing and communications positions. He is a former VP at McCann Worldgroup, responsible for developing the partner channel strategy for the global partner launch of Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. Prior to McCann, Geoff was VP of Marketing for Digital Signature Trust (DST), positioning the company for its acquisition by IdenTrust, Inc. in 2003. IdenTrust is a leading provider of trusted identity solutions used primarily in the financial services and government sectors. In the mid to late '90s, Geoff was an Account Director for DSW Partners where he was instrumental in the development of global campaigns for Intel's Pentium processors and the development of go–to–market strategies for Checkfree Corp., Ask Jeeves and numerous dot coms.

Charles Shelton, Director Network Operations

Charles Shelton

Charlie brings more than 20 years of broad experience in the network and computing industry. Most recently, he led Unisys data center operations for the Medicaid program where his team was the first to achieve federal MMIS certification of an open system solution. Charlie also has 10 years of sales and sales engineering experience gained as a member of Qwest's Business and Government Solutions group. He designed and sold data and telecommunication solutions for Fortune 1000 corporations and achieved President's Club status for sales in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Charlie contracted via IBM with Chrysler Corporation and was instrumental in redesigning their data communications infrastructure. His career in computing began with Unisys where he dedicated 13 years to the research and development of leading edge computer systems and peripherals for government and commercial applications.

Calvin Scharffs, VP Quality Assurance and Customer Support

Calvin Scharffs

Calvin has more than 15 years of experience in product management, customer account management and training and for early-stage companies and Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, Calvin was VP, Group Program Management Director for McCann Worldgroup, the world's largest advertising agency network, responsible for all program execution, project management, agency and client training, and global distribution of materials for Microsoft. Prior to McCann, Calvin was the chief architect over design, implementation and customer support at Compliance Information Systems (CIS), managing three product releases, launching the company's e-commerce web presence, on-line training, on-line policy, demos and support. Prior to his role at CIS, Calvin was founder and CEO of an ISP start up called Digital Planet which was acquired by Citadel Broadcasting Corporation in 1998.

Jeff Barson, Director of Product Marketing & User Experience Czar

Jeff Barson

Jeff brings formidable entrepreneurial, marketing and business growth experience to Sendside with more than 12 years of experience in mass consumer marketing and internet technologies. Before joining Sendside, Jeff founded and led a number of consumer facing technology companies including Surface, Wild Blue, Medical Spa MD, and Nimble. He has lead cross-functional teams focusing on mass adoption, customer experience and social interaction for businesses as wide ranging as medical services and e-commerce.

As a promoter of social technology adoption, Jeff has served as a strategic advisor to early-stage technology companies and founded Fight Club for Entrepreneurs and an angel investment group in Park City, UT.
